  • Site-specific installation by Kendell Carter exploring identity, collaboration and contemporary visual culture through references to hip-hop, architecture, design and abstraction. The exhibition centered around a large wrestling ring installation surrounded by paintings, drawings, objects and textile-based works developed in collaboration with artist Darren Hostetter.

    Kendell Carter is a Los Angeles-based artist whose immersive installations examine race, gender, consumer culture and collective identity through layered visual environments. Darren Hostetter is an artist based in Long Beach whose collaborative work with Carter contributed to the exhibition’s spatial and material development.
